On 7/17/2026, Small Business Bank was closed by the Kansas Office of the State Bank Commissioner, with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) appointed as Receiver. The Farmers State Bank of Oakley, Kansas assumed substantially all deposit accounts and certain assets of the failed institution. Small Business Bank's sole branch reopened as a branch of The Farmers State Bank of Oakley, Kansas on 7/20/2026, with all existing depositors of Small Business Bank automatically transitioning to depositor status at the acquiring institution. All assumed deposits will continue to be insured by the FDIC
